Exit Polls are Out! Close Your Eyes!

I was planning to refuse to read any exit-poll data tonight, since they are always wrong. Then I got assigned to write about them.
I did my best not to look, really. Here is a story so bloated with caveats that it almost can’t stay afloat.

I worked as an election judge during the election and exiting polling would have been telling during the early voting stage when we processed 6000 voters in 10 days at one location.
On election day, just about 100 voters came in during the 12 hour period because 80% of the precinct had already voted.
What a difference! How did that affect exit polling?
